YUMIN ST, a company specializing in the development of flexible leak detection sensors, announced on the 13th that it has developed a new concept flexible chemical leak detection sensor with increased precision by applying a new method, slot-die coating method.
The slot-die coating method applied this time is mainly used to improve the coating performance of slot die coaters for producing touch screens and LCD display panels.
Sensors using the new method can detect uniformly and even detect minute leaks compared to the previously applied gravure printing method. YUMIN ST developed the world's first flexible leak detection sensor that is reusable and has significantly improved detection ability (detection speed increased by more than 10 times), overcoming the limitations of existing sensors.
CEO Kim Dong-hwan of YUMIN ST said, “Chemical leaks can cause a major accident, so preventive measures such as rapid detection are vital.” He also said, “YUMIN ST’s sensors are safe and reliable. “We will do our best to make industrial sites safe through continuous R&D.”
Meanwhile, Korea’s leak detection sensor market has been dominated by Japan's Omron, France's TTK, and America's Tyco Termal. Based on printed electronic technology using new sensor materials and conductive ink independently developed by YUMIN ST in 2007, various new flexible water leakage sensors, liquid sensors and chemical detection sensors were developed. They overcome the shortcomings of existing cable-type sensors and provide a domestic alternative to imported sensors.
